SHELDON KING

BASS GUITAR AND MUSIC DIRECTOR

Bio

Born and raised in the UK, Sheldon’s years of classical training have been
supplemented by his prodigious knowledge of and passion for world music.
He is a former musical director of Attik Dance and Big State Theatre in the UK and was lead tutor for the Guildhall’s ‘Creative Factory Orchestra’. He has conducted guitar master classes at the WOMAD festival and performed on the Jazz Stage at Glastonbury Festival. In 2006 Sheldon relocated to Australia where he currently directs workshops in improvisation for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Sheldo ’composes extensively for Film and T.V and is currently working on a score for the feature film ‘Olivia’ by Genna Chanelle.

SID GOLDSMITH

Bio

Bristol based musician Sid Goldsmith is a stalwart of the English folk scene. His recordings of folk songs have been nominated for a BBC2 Folk Award and he’s performed at countless festivals and gigs and live sessions for BBC Radio 2/3. His duo ‘Aldridge/Goldsmith’ were recently awarded the number 1 spot in Songlines ‘top 10 climate conscious artists’. As a multi-instrumentalist (Vocals, Guitar, Cittern, Concertina, Double Bass) he’s in demand and current projects include Awake Arise (a show celebrating winter traditions, featuring Lady Maisery) and Tarren (trio with Danny Pedlar and Alex Garden).

ALEX LUPO

Bio

Alex is a practising musician with over 20 years of experience as a performer, composer and producer. As a performer, composer and producer Alex has collaborated with PJ Harvey, Ivor Award winning composer Charlotte Harding, Charles Hazlewood and the British Paraorchestra, Bibio, Dubkasm, Malachai, Babyhead, among others. Alex has worked on a number of theatre productions as a composer and sound designer and has toured as a performer with Kneehigh Theatre Company. His credits for Kneehigh include: Dead Dog in a Suitcase (UK Tour), The Tin Drum (UK Tour), and Ubu Karaoke (Kneehigh Asylum). Alex’s other credits include: Twelfth Night (The Globe), as musical director and composer on Mike Shepard’s 2022 production of Calvino Nights, and performed in the National Theatre production of London Tide (2024).  As a composer for film, TV and animation Alex has worked with Aardman Animation Ltd, Cartoon Network, Wonky Films, Rumpus Films, Reflective Films, the BBC, Channel 4, Lucky G, Rinse the Sync, and Lift Music among others.
